Provides a 44-bed, 40-day residential recovery program for men and women experiencing problems with alcohol or other drugs. Participants explore new lifestyle choices conducive to sobriety by participating in an intensive program of group, individual, educational and health oriented activities as well as Alcoholic Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous meetings. OPEN ENROLLMENT, 1/10/11-5/25/11: Applications will be accepted for all eligible individuals and families, and may only be submitted by designated S+C Outreach Agencies. To apply for S+C, must first become a client of the agency.
Provides application assistance and services to Alameda County S+C clients. Alameda County Shelter Plus Care (S+C) Program is a permanent supportive housing program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Provides support services and affordable housing to homeless individuals and their families who meet the following federal eligibility criteria:
-Are living on the street or other places unfit for human habitation, in emergency shelter, or in eligible Transitional Housing with verification that the applicant was living on the street or in shelter prior to entering Transitional Housing.
-Are disabled by chronic substance abuse problems, serious mental illness, or AIDS and related disorders.
- Have a household income at or below 50% of Area Median Income (AMI), the HUD Very Low Income category.
Apply Monday-Friday between 9-11am.
Must have valid ID, social security and recent TB test within the last 30 days; S+C: must be a client first.
