Intensive Outpatient has two components:
Assessment and Intensive Outpatient TreatmentThe goals of the assessment are to identify the nature and the extent of an individual's substance abuse problem(s), gather intake information, and recommend placement in a treatment program when appropriate.
Intake information also includes client identifying data, family and personal history, and significant problems.
A combination of this information is used to obtain a diagnostic impression (DSM-IV).
Ultimately, placement in a program is decided upon if clinically appropriate.
Assessment services are provided face-to-face by a qualified clinician.
The Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program operates under the belief that addiction is a disease and is best treated with a 12 Step recovery approach with emphasis on family involvement.
It is designed to serve individuals with substance abuse problems who have the ability to achieve sobriety through a less restrictive environment than afforded by residential treatment, but are in need of a more intensive treatment than conventional outpatient therapy.
Day and evening programs are offered in Dothan.
Evening programs are offered in Barbour, Dale and Geneva counties.
