Coordinates research and offers information about amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), better known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
Provides resources, healthcare, and supportive services.
Services include in-home visits (to evaluate and assist with needed adaptations and provide support and other services), in-home respite services, support groups for patients and caregivers, and educational and public awareness programming and events.
Funds the lois insolia als center.
The Center is affiliated with Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and provides diagnostic, rehabilitative and supportive services focusing on assessment, care planning, and education.
Maintains an inventory of augmentative communication devices and of durable medical equipment for loans, and provides stipends of up to $2,000 for purchase of equipment.
To be eligible for equipment services, individuals must be of the Lois Insolia ALS Center and meet criteria.
