SpectraCare Health Systems is a regional community-based system that provides mental health, substance abuse and intellectual disability services in Southeast Alabama in Barbour, Dale, Geneva, Henry and Houston Counties.
SpectraCare, formerly known as Wiregrass Mental Health Board, was established in 1968 under Act 310 of the Alabama State Legislature.
SpectraCare is a tax-exempt public non-profit corporation under the IRS Code Section 501(c) 3.
Contributions or donations to SpectraCare are deductible for income tax purposes.
SpectraCare is certified to provide services by the Alabama Department of Mental Health.
They work with various state and local agencies to provide needed services to the citizens of their five-county area.
Referral for services is usually made by physicians, other service agencies, institutions, schools, churches, and family members.
The Substance Abuse Services Division offers a continuum of care to meet the needs of consumers.
SA Services are offered in Barbour, Dale, Geneva, Henry, and Houston Counties.

Priority appointments (within 48 hours of request for services) are reserved for people who use IV drugs and are pregnant, pregnant women, people who use IV drugs, individuals who are HIV positive and women with dependent children.
